O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is both South Africa’s and Africa’s busiest airport by quite some way, with over 21 million passengers in the 2017-2018 financial year. Trains leave approximately every 10 to 20 minutes on weekdays and at thirty minute intervals on weekends and run between about 5.30am and 8.30pm (from Park northwards). The 562 Metrobus goes once a day to the airport from Southgate in the early morning, returning late afternoon. (Weekdays only). Shuttle buses, taxis and rideshares are other transportation options to the airport.
